Founding Letter

Why the Global Business Climate Council must exist now.

The climate agenda is no longer on the margins of strategy. It is shaping market access, enterprise value, supply security, investment decisions and long-term competitiveness. The Global Business Climate Council was founded to help decision-makers act with clarity in that new context.

The founding case

A market institution for a climate-shaped economy.

The climate era will reward those who can read risk earlier, move capital faster and translate uncertainty into strategic advantage.
Letter from the founders
Global Business Climate Council • 2026
To boards, investors, policymakers
and leaders shaping the next cycle of growth

We founded the Global Business Climate Council because climate change has become one of the most consequential forces shaping economic decision-making. It influences infrastructure, trade, access to resources, regulation, insurance, valuation, productivity and the future of entire sectors. Yet many institutions still lack a trusted, decision-oriented source of climate guidance built for business realities.

GBCC is intended to fill that gap. Our purpose is to connect climate science, market signals, public policy and sector dynamics in a form that helps leaders act — not with abstract commentary, but with rigorous, executive-level guidance that can influence capital allocation, strategic planning and long-term value creation.

We believe the next phase of climate leadership will be defined by execution. The institutions that thrive will be those able to understand which climate issues are becoming financially material, which transition pathways are investable, where resilience will create advantage and how sustainability can be translated into competitiveness.

That is the work GBCC was designed to do. We are building a platform capable of convening highly qualified voices from business, finance, diplomacy, government and science — and of turning that combined perspective into clear letters, briefings and signals for the market.
